Gray whale migration looking great!

admin No Comments

Many encounters with these gorgeous gray whales this week aboard East Meets West Excursions, Newport Beach. We saw 19 just this weekend; over 30 for the week. Also in the mix have been a couple fin whales and humpback whales. Lots of fun, great sightings, and beautiful weather!

Lots of gray whales and Patches the Dolphin!

We saw gray whales on all of our whale watching tours this week aboard East Meets West Excursions, Newport Beach. Most are migrating southbound but we have encountered a few northbound grays already. Other sightings have included coastal bottlenose dolphins, a pod of 100 offshore bottlenose dolphins (including the famous Patches, a leucistic bottlenose dolphin lacking pigmentation causing anomalous coloration), a superpod of over 1000 common dolphins in a feeding frenzy, and pacific white sided dolphins. Our gray whale migration is going strong and signals indicate it should only get better. Great time to come out Whale Watching and enjoy the beautiful gray whales!
