Unseasonably late humpback whales have been showing very well for East Meets West Excursions. Traditionally, humpbacks are wintering around Cabo in waters closer to the equator this time of year but they made a late appearance beginning middle of December and have stuck around foraging on anchovies. Humpbacks have been our mainstay focus, some trips seeing upwards of 6-8 whales in an area.
Gray whales have been sporadic – late in the ‘full swing’ of the season but this should change any day now. We are waiting for the flood gates to open and gray whales abound!
Dolphins have been nothing short of epic with large pods of common dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, and lots of pacific white sided dolphins showing.
